This post is long overdue, but I want to share a couple of memories from our January birthday trip to Paris ! We flew in on Saturday morning and left Sunday night, so it was a speedy trip!
We stayed at an amazing hotel called, le Roch, and it blew us away in every way. Le Roch is a cute boutique hotel right in the middle of the action — only 500 m from Tuileries Gardens.
Because we arrived Saturday morning, we wanted to hit the ground running. After we showered and changed, per my friend Haley’s recommendation, we immediately visited the museum: L’orangerie.
It is a little museum located in the Tuileries gardens, which is right by the Louvre. The number one reason to go there is to see the room covered in Monet’s lilly pad panels. It brought me back to my mission renaissance painting days in the Palisades when I would attempt to paint Monet. It was spectacular!
In the afternoon, we walked around and popped in and out of some shops and restuarants.
For dinner, we splurged and went to an amazing dinner called Restaurant Kei. The food was fabulous and the experience memorable.
The next morning we woke up and walked for hours. One of my priorities was finding an amazing crepe place. Haley told us to head across the river to Au P’tit Grec
Crepes in the 5th on Rue Mouffetard. It did not disappoint!

We wandered around St. Germaine and then headed over to the Eiffel tower.
I made Bryan take a million selfies… and he was so happy with me. Hehe.

After the Eiffel tower, we grabbed lunch at a little place that I found through a blogger I follow, Gal Meets Glam.
All in all, Bryan and I enjoyed our weekend escape to Paris. It was the one weekend in January and Feb, that Bryan did not need to work through the weekend, and I was grateful!
Until next time,
Hila
